The Ministry of Infrastructure has been informed of attempted scams involving fake text messages falsely claiming to be from the National traffic management center (NCUP). The messages were sent from foreign mobile numbers, mostly from the Philippines. The message informed the recipient that they had received a fine for various traffic violations. We are informing the public that these are fake messages; the NCUP does not issue fines for traffic violations. Please delete such messages, do not open any links, and do not provide your personal information.
Users who have clicked on the link and entered their credit card information should contact their bank as soon as possible and follow their instructions. The bank’s phone number is usually printed on the back of the credit card. If you have suffered any loss, report the fraud to the nearest police station or by calling 113.
